Anatomy of the "Aam Aadmi"

Posted: Published on March 21st, 2015

Alex Garland's 1996 novel The Beach, also made into a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, had a fascinating plot. It revolved around idealistic people setting up a secret island paradise in Thailand. The island, hidden from modern civilisation, was designed to be a society based on equality, love and trust. Those living there shunned materialistic greed and everything wrong with modern life. Things seem wonderful to start with. However, the island slowly degenerates. Issues such as formation of factions, differences of opinion, power politics and betrayals surface. Eventually the paradise, despite its clear blue water and powdery beaches, becomes a violent hell. The lesson is simple where there are humans, there can be no paradise. And now, we see the same situation in AAP. The political party that seemed created from the nectar of the gods is now afflicted with the ugliest human traits mistrust, greed, ego, impatience and vengefulness. This is not meant to criticise AAP. In fact, i find AAP today far more honest and real than the righteous nonsense peddled earlier. I also feel AAP's prospects are brighter than they were before this crisis. People who helped AAP take form the NGO types, the leftists, the activists, the … Continue reading

Posted: Published on March 21st, 2015

VIEW GALLERY Brave Litherland boy Finn McEwen met his Everton heroes at Finch Farm this afternoon. Finn, 7, who suffers from bone marrow failure and is in desperate need of a stem cell transplant, met the first team players following their return from Kiev. He is a particular fan of striker Romelu Lukaku so he was very excited to meet the Belgian player. He and his brother Lucas, 6, also met players including James McCarthy, Tony Hibbert and Sylvain Distin. Finn and his family had lunch in the Finch Farm canteen and were given a tour of the training ground. The boys and dad Neil, 46, also met Everton legend Graeme Sharp and the players signed a shirt for him. Graeme urged people to support Finn by registering to see if they are a match. He said: Registration is really simple, it is not an intrusive process. Initially it involves logging your details online, receiving a pack in the post, using a swab and brushing the inside of your mouth and sending it back. It really is that simple and it could ultimately save Finns and other peoples lives. Follow this link: Finn McEwen meets his Everton heroes at Finch … Continue reading

Woman unlicensed to practice medicine in Vancouver is shut down

Posted: Published on March 21st, 2015

A woman unlicensed to practice medicine has been permanently shut down by the BC Supreme Court following an investigation in January. Anita Fofie of Dermix Institute of Aesthetic Medicine at 1721 Davie Street in Vancouver, first appeared on the radar of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC in 2012. Following an investigation on January 28, the College seized boxes and vials of injectable medication, syringes and needles. The College also seized documents from Fofies business, which confirmed her unauthorized use of titles like doctor and physician and administering Botox and other similar products. We hired somebody to actually go in and pose as a patient and we were able to confirm that this individual was calling herself a physician and was providing this service, says Dr. Heidi Oetter, College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. And thats why we went to initially get an injunction to prevent her from doing that and. stop her from providing this service. According to the College, injecting Botox, which is considered a prescription drug, is a medical service that can only be performed by licensed health professions (doctors, dental surgeons, and registered nurses). Im not trying to fight it, Fofie toldGlobal News. … Continue reading

Labiaplasty: What's All The Buzz Really About?

Posted: Published on March 21st, 2015

OWINGS MILLS, Md., March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --Some may be surprised to hear that labiaplasty can be life-changing, but Karen Elizabeth Boyle, MD, a Baltimore-based urologist, sexual health expert and surgeon at Chesapeake Aesthetic Surgery can attest to the fact that labiaplasty helps restore lost confidence and sexual function in many of her female patients. "Through the media, we are bombarded with images of what 'normal' women's bodies should look like. But normal is certainly subjective when it comes to a woman's self-perception," explains Dr. Boyle. "Many women who have enlarged labia feel embarrassed, self-conscious and even shy away from intimacy. Labiaplasty has proven to be life-changing for so many women, helping them to regain sexual function as well as confidence in their appearance and sexuality." What is an Enlarged Labia? Some women are born with enlarged or abnormally shaped labia, which become apparent during puberty. With labial enlargement, the tissue can hang down a few inches outside the labia majora or outer labia causing women to feel self-conscious and uncomfortable, and can cause problems with intercourse and intimacy. Weight loss or weight gain as well as pregnancy and childbirthcan cause changes to the labia and pubic area which can … Continue reading

RunPhoto / Getty Images The FDA's taken on five cosmetic companies in the past five months, telling them to stop makingmedical claims for wrinkle creams. One product at a time, the Food and Drug Administration is taking on the beauty industry and some of the over-the-top claims being made for some of the products. Five warnings have gone out since November. The latest warning letter went out to Strivectin, whose wrinkle creams are sold at retailers that range from Costco to Nordstrom. The language FDA objects to? The claims on your website indicate that the products are intended to affect the structure or any function of the human body, rendering them drugs under the (Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic) Act, FDA says in a warning letter sent to the company. And when Strivectin says its Advanced Tightening Neck Cream, can restore the elastin fiber architecture, providing noticeable lift and improving resistance to gravity, its actually claiming that product is a drug and its one that hasnt been through the FDAs review process, the agency said in its letter.
