Tonight Greys Anatomy season 11, episode 5 is Callie and Arizona centric

Posted: Published on October 24th, 2014

Tonight Greys Anatomy season 11, episode 5, Bend & Break, will revisit the issues surrounding Callie and Arizonas marriage. On the last episode of Greys Anatomy a series of flashbacks revealed what really happened between Richard and Ellis. It was her success that made Richard decide to stay with Adele. His jealousy of Ellis, and therefore his abandonment of her, is what caused Ellis to give birth to Maggie in Boston and give her away. The episode also saw several family members coming together. Richard realized he needed to take the chance to get to know Maggie. While Derek realized what Meredith was going through. It seems like maybe Meredith is opening up to Maggie as well. Meanwhile, Alex was back working on the pediatric floor of Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital. He was happy to be helping Arizona until he heard that Bailey got her spot on the board with a unanimous vote. That means that his friends betrayed his trust. In this Callie and Arizona centric episode, the couple takes a look into the problems that have contributed to their troubled marriage. At work, Callie immerses herself in the Veterans project, and Arizona struggles to impress Dr. Herman. … Continue reading

'Grey's Anatomy's' Sara Ramirez, Jessica Capshaw on Callie and Arizona's Devastating Decision

Posted: Published on October 24th, 2014

ABC "Grey's Anatomy's" Jessica Capshaw, left, and Sara Ramirez [Warning: This story contains major spoilers from the "Bend & Break" episode of Grey's Anatomy.] ABC's Grey's Anatomy delivered one hell of a gut-punch Thursday, when one of TV's most influential couples was forced to turn the microscope on themselves and rip off the Band-Aid that was holding their relationship together. During the hour, Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) finally sat down in couple's therapy to address the issues that have been rapidly piling up since Arizona returned from Africa to learn that Callie had slept with Mark and was pregnant. Among them: Arizona's infidelity, their current impasse about adding a second child to their family and more. The episode, which spanned more than 30 days, featured incredible flashbacks to the couple's early days: their first date, first kiss and more as Grey's continued to mine from its rich past. But the end result was a real blow when Callie, who thanks to an in-home separation, learned that she no longer wanted to try and mend her marriage. Instead, Callie voted for herself after recognizing the couple had become codependent and lost their individuality along the way. Arizona, on … Continue reading

"I really love playing Maggie, I think she's so much fun. I've been given some really great material and I'm really enjoying exploring her relationships," McCreary told THR during a visit to the Grey's set this week. "There's a lot to play out. Taking a 'Selfie' May Help With Dermatology Care, Study Shows

Posted: Published on October 24th, 2014

Posted: Thursday, October 23, 2014, 4:00 AM (HealthDay News) -- While in-office visits may still be best, taking a photo of a skin lesion and sending it to your dermatologist for analysis may be a valuable piece of eczema care, a new study finds. "This study shows something interesting -- patients' eczema improved regardless whether they saw the doctor for follow-up in the office or communicated online," said one expert not connected to the study, Dr Gary Goldenberg of New York City. The new technology "gives patients another valuable option of communicating with their doctor," said Goldenberg, who is assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City. The new study was led by Dr. April Armstrong of the University of Colorado, Denver, and published online Oct. 22 in the journal JAMA Dermatology. The study included 156 adults and children with eczema: 78 received typical in-person, follow-up care, while 78 received online follow-up care. The patients in the online care group sent photos of skin outbreaks to dermatologists, who evaluated the photos, made treatment recommendations and prescribed medications. After one year, clearance or near clearance of eczema was achieved by almost … Continue reading

PUBLIC RELEASE DATE: 23-Oct-2014 Contact: Dr. Anna-Sabine Ernst presse@iqwig.de 49-022-135-6850 Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care Vedolizumab (trade name Entyvio) has been approved since May 2014 for patients with moderately to severely active Crohn disease or ulcerative colitis. In an early benefit assessment pursuant to the Act on the Reform of the Market for Medicinal Products (AMNOG), the German Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) examined whether the drug offers an added benefit over the appropriate comparator therapy in these patient groups. According to the findings, such an added benefit is not proven because the dossier contained no suitable data for any of the two therapeutic indications. G-BA specified adalimumab or infliximab as comparator therapy Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic inflammatory bowel diseases. Vedolizumab is an option when conventional therapy is not tolerated or does not provide sufficient release of symptoms. This conventional treatment can also be a tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF) antagonist. The Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) specified a TNF antagonist (adalimumab or infliximab) as appropriate comparator therapy for both therapeutic indications. It is to be noted that it is possible to switch to a different TNF antagonist or to adjust … Continue reading
