Welcome to the Cardiac Care Services website. Our website was designed to serve as a gateway to information about the Cardiac Care Program as well as the Departments of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. It is our hope that you will find this resource helpful in obtaining any cardiac related information you need.

Our Cardiac Care Program at London Health Sciences Centre proudly delivers excellent, state of the art care to the people of Southwestern Ontario. As a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Western Ontario, we offer tertiary care services ranging from prevention to diagnosis to treatment and follow-up. Our research-based best practices and technologies enable us to provide the best possible care to our patients. Working with Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics (CSTAR), Lawson Health Research Institute and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western, we are responsible for a number of firsts.

The Cardiac Care Program provides care at two hospital sites: University Hospital and Victoria Hospital.

In 2007, we cared for over 21,000 inpatients. Over 1,400 heart surgeries, 110,000 diagnostic tests, more than 3,500 cardiac catheterizations, and 1,300 interventional procedures were completed! Our Arrhythmia program inserted over 800 pacemakers and ICDs and performed about 1,100 electrical studies and ablations.

Patients are also seen in the Cardiac Outpatient Department and are referred to the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention Program with its six satellite facilities. The Children's Hospital provides cardiac care to its paediatric population.
