A few months ago I got the opportunity to have a segment on the radio where I discussed my journey with cerebral palsy, and how Ive overcome many obstacles living in a society as a person with a disability.

I took the opportunity right away and went straight into the studio and began recording. When Im in the studio, I seem to forget about the lack of mobility within my body due to my cerebral palsy.

When Im behind the mic I feel empowered to make a difference in the world by sharing my story. I tell my story through the music that I play and the quotes that I share. Yes I have Cerebral Palsy and Im not ashamed to say that being a radio personality has allowed me to say, this is my story and this is my message to the world and Im ready to make the impact Ive always wanted to make. Being on the radio has allowed me to connect with others who are just like me and who have the same challenges as I do. It has given me the strength to get through the days where I have a hard time getting out of bed because of the lack of my mobility within my left side of my body.

Being a radio personality gives me the chance to have a voice and share my story, and be confident in the message that I want to share with the world about my journey with cerebral palsy and the world around me.

It has also given me the chance to feel empowered to inspire others to tell their stories to the best of their abilities, and also to leave a positive message with society and the world at large.

Being a radio personality has allowed me to be who I am without the worry of people judging me based on my wheelchair and my outside appearance. This has made me more inspired to share my story with the world in ways I never thought I would.

Getting to be inside the studio has given me an outlet for when I feel like my condition is just way too much and I need to get away. I know I could just turn on my mic, record my thoughts and let my mind go free. It allows me to forget about all of my worries with my condition and the outside world.

Story continues

Im truly thankful for radio and what its done for me and my mindset. It has given me a more positive outlook on things as I remember that Im making an impact and I have to move forward because the world needs me and my story.
