Memory of Gwynedd girl, 15, who died after surgery will be ‘held in our hearts’ – North Wales Live

Tributes have been paid to an "inspirational" teenage girl who tragically died after heart surgery last month. Aleena Marie Biju, 15, from Bangor passed away on September 28 due to complications following cardiac surgery.

The teen was a pupil at Our Lady's School ( Ysgol Ein Harglwyddes) in Bangor, Gwynedd, who have now paid tribute to her. Sharing her funeral notice on their Facebook page they said: "All our prayers and thoughts are with Aleena's family at this sad time.

"Aleena has been an inspiration to us all and she will be remembered fondly by staff, children and parents at Our Lady's School. Her memory will be held in our hearts. Rest in Peace Aleena"

In her funeral notice Aleena is described as a "beloved daughter", "loving sister" and "proud granddaughter". She leaves behind her parents Biju and Sigy, her brother Alen and her grandparents - Joy, Mary and Thresiamma.

Her family say the young girl will be "deeply missed" by those who knew her. Aleena's funeral is due to take place on Thursday, October 13.
