What is Atrial Fibrillation (AF)? – Heart Foundation NZ

Posted: Published on July 15th, 2018

Your Heart Your heart is like your bodys main engine room. It is a powerful and important muscle that pumps blood throughout your body. This blood delivers oxygen and food to muscles and vital organs as it travels through an amazing network of blood vessels. This constant fuel supply is what helps you carry on all the things you do in your everyday life. Your heart sits in the centre of your chest, between your lungs and is protected by your rib cage. It is about the size of your clenched fist. Your heart is made of four chambers, or rooms. The top two rooms are called atria. The bottom two rooms are called ventricles. Each room has a valve that works like an automatic gate. The valve opens and closes, making sure blood only travels in one direction - similar to a one-way traffic system. Your heart is powered to pump blood using its own electrical conduction system. You might have seen your hearts electrical activity on a graph if you have undergone a heart test called an electrocardiogram (ECG). Your hearts electrical system is made up of three main parts: A heartbeat is one cycle in which your … Continue reading

Eczema: The Autoimmune Disease Everyone Seems To Be …

Posted: Published on July 15th, 2018

The No Cause, No Cure Paradigm for Eczema is Wrong Ive always been a questioner. This is why I believe eczema can be healed and reversed (and new science backs this). When I was a little kid, I asked lots of questions because I wanted to know how and why things worked. Conversations Id frequently have with my parents would go something like this: Me: Why does my tummy hurt? Parent: Probably because you just swallowed your gum. Me: Why would gum make my tummy hurt? Parent: When you swallow your gum it can stick to your insides. Me: Why would it stick to my insides? Parent (frustrated): Oh, I dont know, it just does! At this point I usually stopped the dialogue because I was clearly annoying my parents and I was frustrated that I didnt get the answers I desired. Even as little kid I couldnt understand why gum wouldnt be digested like the rest of my food?? It also didnt make sense to me that it would stick to my insides. There is always a reason why (even if not everyone know the answer). Those same feelings of frustration and disbelief came to the surface for me … Continue reading

Eight Key Steps to Heal Ulcerative Colitis Using Natural Remedies

Posted: Published on July 12th, 2018

What Is Ulcerative Colitis* Colitis is a bowel disease (an inflammation of the inner lining of the colon), resulting in pain, loose bowel movements or diarrhea, loss of bowel control, and intestinal bleeding (blood in the stool). There are over ten types of colitis, with the most common being ulcerative colitis, ischemic colitis, microscopic colitis, and infectious colitis. Causes of colitis include bowel disease, infections, poor blood supply, and autoimmune reactions. After healing myself of serious gastrointestinal disease, consulting with people with all types of colon and bowel conditions for over ten years, and answering thousands of questions on my online forum, I have become internationally recognized as an expert on natural remedies for colitis. Even if you have tried every colitis treatment available without success, dont give up hope my natural remedies for colitis have helped tens of thousands of people worldwide, and my books are sold in over 40 countries. L.R., California, USA I have had Crohn's Disease for four years now and the prescription drugs have done nothing to help the up and down cycles of the disease. Jini's book 'Listen to Your Gut' helped me a great deal... "I have had Crohn's Disease for four years … Continue reading

Blood vessel – Wikipedia

Posted: Published on July 12th, 2018

"Vascular" redirects here. For information about plants, see Vascular plant. The blood vessels are the part of the circulatory system, and microcirculation, that transports blood throughout the human body.[1] There are three major types of blood vessels: the arteries, which carry the blood away from the heart; the capillaries, which enable the actual exchange of water and chemicals between the blood and the tissues; and the veins, which carry blood from the capillaries back toward the heart. The word vascular, meaning relating to the blood vessels, is derived from the Latin vas, meaning vessel. A few structures (such as cartilage and the lens of the eye) do not contain blood vessels and are labeled. The arteries and veins have three layers. The middle layer is thicker in the arteries than it is in the veins: Capillaries consist of little more than a layer of endothelium and occasional connective tissue. When blood vessels connect to form a region of diffuse vascular supply it is called an anastomosis. Anastomoses provide critical alternative routes for blood to flow in case of blockages. There is a layer of muscle surrounding the arteries and the veins which help contract and expand the vessels. This creates … Continue reading
