So there is a little smoke in the air. You can thank the Forest Service, the BLM, and all the tree huggers, lizard lovers, wolf lovers and the spotted owl freaks. They don't want logging, grazing or roads. Nature started the fire. Let nature take its course and let it burn itself out. What's a little smoke?

This whole wilderness thing is really a big problem and you can see the results of forest mismanagement and wilderness mismanagement in the Gila. That place is burning up because they would not allow logging or grazing or controlled burns or any access. The fire could have been stopped but there was no access to the area where the lightning hit.

Airline fuel and manpower that Obama uses to gallivant around the country should instead best be used to put out the Gila Forest fire.

We need more red light cameras and we need to hook up the ones that we have. The people running red lights are dangerous and they are breaking the law and if they are caught on camera, why shouldn't they pay?

Please do something about the weather page for the air quality. For the past several days you have had it listed as "good." When you can't breath and you're having asthma attacks because of the smoke from the fires, I don't call that air quality very good.

I have to subscribe to the Albuquerque Journal if I want any national news. Not one word in Sun-News about Mitt Romney's victory in Texas. He is now the GOP nominee.

The ever histrionic Harbison declares

Mr. Harbison is correct that there are those who believe the Constitution to be a "living document," that "laws and institutions must go hand in hand with progress" as Thomas Jefferson said. So who you going to believe about original intent, Harbison or Jefferson?

El Paso's District 16 voters spoke volumes by electing newcomer Beto O'Rourke over career politician Silvestre Reyes in their primary election. They are no longer satisfied with the status quo. Some districts in NM need to do the same. Let's put some fresh faces with fresh ideas in office.

Congratulations to the Lil Angels from Las Cruces for winning the 7uAA coach pitch state championship in Ruidoso Memorial Day weekend. They also finished second in the 7u King of the Mountain Tourney that same weekend.
