The Pediatric Cardiology Division provides comprehensive care for children with heart disease, conducts seminal research, and oversees a nationally recognized training program.

Under the direction of Gerald Greil, M.D., Ph.D., Pogue Family Distinguished Chair in Pediatric Cardiology, the Division has 27 board-certified pediatric cardiologists, each with a special area of expertise, including critical care medicine, interventional catheterization, electrophysiology, advanced imaging including cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT), fetal cardiology, cardiac transplantation, heart failure, prevention, and adults with congenital heart disease.

The Division hasa fully staffed Preventative Cardiology Clinic and Pediatric Echocardiography Laboratory, and remains one of the most active heart transplantation programs in the country.Learn more about the excellence of our patient care.

Division faculty are highly respected in the academic community, participating as editors, reviewers, study section members, and representatives to subspecialty societies. Ongoing investigations include epidemiologic studies of congenital heart disease,interventional catheterization, natural history of the ductus arteriosus, and optimizer cardiovascular support therapy. Finally, we have been at the forefront of the development of biodegradable stents for use in the cardiovascular system. Learn more about our state-of-the-art research.

The Division is dedicated to the training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Our fellowship currently accepts two trainees per year in the categorical program, and advanced training is available in cardiac critical care, catheterization/intervention, advanced imaging, and cardiac transplantation.
