Table discussion at conference.

In this digital age it is more important than ever to connect as much as possible in person with our professional and personal contacts. In the professional world, perhaps the most effective way to connect with others professionally is conferences.

However, not all conferences are created equal - especially when it comes to emerging technologies such as AI. For this reason, Ive compiled a list of what I believe to be the stand out conferences in this important and ever-evolving field, and who each event is best suited for.

AIMed runs a number of events, global summits which bring together high-level conferences, exhibition style booths, problem-solving workshops and premium networking sessions - all focused on AI in medicine. Their flagship event, AIMed 19 just wrapped up today, December 14. AIMed also leads Clinician Series conferences which are smaller, more educational sessions concentrating on a particular sub-speciality, e.g. Radiology, and finally AIMed Talks which are free to attend breakfast briefings, webinars and podcasts.

All of AIMeds events are designed primarily for healthcare professionals, from nurses to CEO's of hospitals; but are also suitable for pharmaceutical professionals, technology companies and start-ups.

The purpose of AIMed is to discuss, educate, innovate & most importantly, to change.

The AIMed movement is led my clinicians, making it completely unique, it is also the only movement dedicated only to AI in medicine. In a forward thinking, technological landscape innovation is pivotal to the success of industry; AIMed is the driving force ensuring the healthcare sector is not left behind.

AIMed founder, Anthony Chang, still a practising Pediatric Cardiology, realized that AI was the future of medicine so took himself back to school, to study a Master of Science (MS) in Data Science with a sub-specialization in artificial intelligence from Stanford School of Medicine, he is now Chief Intelligence and Innovation Officer, Sharon Disney Lund Medical Intelligence and Innovation Institute (MI3) at CHOC Childrens, and still of course practices medicine.

Chang is dedicated to implementing data science and AI into medicine, and created AIMed to make learning more accessible to medical professionals.

On of the major reasons AIMed made this list is that their conference program gets stronger each year. They have recently incorporated an Abstract Competition, where students have the opportunity to submit abstracts and present them in front of our judges at AIMed 19. This gives judges and attendees alike, the opportunity to see into the future of medicine with these cutting-edge ideas.

The next global summit will be AIMed Abu Dhabi, which will take place between 8 - 10 April at The Emirates Palace, followed by AIMed UK which will take place on the 19th of June, at 115 Bishopgate, London and then AIMed 20, taking place at The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel from 9th - 12th 2020.

The next clinician series edition is AIMed ICU & AIMed Surgery which will take place on the 28th and 29th April 2020, at the Innovation Institute, California, AIMed Radiology & Cardiology on 18th and 19th May 2020, at Innovation Institute, California, and finally AIMed Neurology & Mental Health, taking place on 5th and 6th of October 2020.
