WVU Medicine clinic moving to new office

MARTINSBURG - The WVU Medicine Children's Pediatric Subspecialty and Telemedicine Clinic in Martinsburg will relocate to a new office effective Monday.

The clinic brings the expertise of WVU Medicine Children's pediatric subspecialists to families in the Eastern Panhandle. Using state-of-the-art telemedicine technology, patients in Martinsburg are able to interact in real-time with pediatric subspecialists in Morgantown.

During a visit at the clinic, a pediatric subspecialist leads the exam virtually with support from a local advanced practice provider. Telemedicine appointments are available with pediatric specialists in Adolescent Medicine, Cardiology, Complex Care, Craniofacial Plastic Surgery, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Genetics, Hematology, Infectious Disease, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine and Urology.

Pediatric subspecialists from WVU Medicine Children's in Morgantown also offer outreach clinics from the Martinsburg location on a rotating basis.

Local VSCPA hosting three CPE events

WINCHESTER - The Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the VSCPA is hosting three CPE events. Anyone interested in registering for any of the events, contact the Shenandoah Valley Chapter at shenandoahvalleyvscpa@gmail.com.

Virtual Lunch & Learn Webinar will be held noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. This event is free for members. One CPE credit will be awarded. The guest speakers are from First Bank in Winchester, Virginia. The topic of the presentation will be PPP Loans. A Chapter Meeting will follow the CPE event from 1-2 p.m.

Virtual CPE Webinar on Financial Statement Fraud with Weston Smith, former CFO of HealthSouth. This event will be held noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, and two CPE credits.

The registration fee for this event is $50.00 for members and nonmembers. Student chapter members may attend free. This event qualifies for the ethics CPE requirement for WV CPAs. Register required by Friday, Oct. 23.

Virtual AICPA Annual Tax Update with David Peters. This event will be held 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, and eight CPE credits will be awarded.

The fees for this event are as follows: Members - early bird registration fee $150 if registered by Nov. 6; Members - registration fee $180 if registered after Nov. 6 and nonmember registration fee is $200.

Dresser to speak at Four Seasons Books

SHEPHERDSTOWN - Award-winning playwright, screenwriter, and television writer Richard Dresser is celebrating the publication of his first novel, "It Happened Here" at Four Seasons Books in Shepherdstown with a virtual book signing 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26.

The event will be streamed through the Contemporary American Theater Festival's YouTube and Facebook pages.
