Hyperbaric oxygen is a simple concept. The air we breathe is 21 percent oxygen. By providing 100 percent oxygen in a pressurized chamber, we are able to deliver 10 to 15 times more oxygen to the patient. This hyperbaric, or high-pressure, dose of oxygen offers many therapeutic benefits.

During your treatment, you will be placed in the hyperbaric chamber and our team will adjust the level of pure oxygen as ordered by our hyperbaric physician. If you have a wound, the dressing will be left in place during your treatments, because hyperbaric oxygen targets blood circulating in your system, not the wound directly.

Treatments in the hyperbaric chamber may last up to two hours. The benefits may occur with only one or two treatments. However, it may be necessary to undergo as many as 30-40 treatments for maximum benefit. You may experience side effects that include vision changes, fatigue, claustrophobia or ear pressure. These side effects are treatable and completely reversible.
